Flash Fiction Friday - The Lake

Hello and welcome back to Flash Fiction Friday. I hope you have had a super week. In the Stevens household, we are preparing to move house.

We have found our forever home in a lovely little village where our daughter goes to school. The only problem is that I am not so much a patient person when it comes to getting what I want. I have visually moved my furniture into the new house, and would like to have a move date now lol. Fingers crossed it will be mid-June when we get to move, but I’ll keep you posted.

Okay, so back to #FFF, this is where we are given a picture and have to write a snippet relating to it. 100 words exactly, no more, no less.

The picture this week:

“Listen,” she whispered “It’s so quiet.”

He covered her waist with his strong arms, interlocking his fingers together to cover her naval.

“It’s beautiful. There has always been something about that willow tree that brings a calming effect. Its leaves remind me of tears that run down to the lake.”

She giggled, “I never had you down for a romantic.”

“Oh no?” he said breaking his fingers apart and turning slightly to meet her gaze.

“No,” she replied with certainty.

“You’re right,” he answered as he gave her playful shove right into the water.

“Holly fuck it’s cold,” she gasped

That’s my flash for today. Be sure to check out all the other writers taking part. You can find them all here:

  5. Playful and soo cold (meaning the water). And very sneaky of him too. Great flash and I love how you pulled the Willow into the story. :)

  6. I like how you teased us with a romantic setting, turning it around to a playful scene. Nicely done within the restriction of 100 words.
