Tantalizing Tuesday - My Playground

Well hello again, it's that time of week.  This is where I find a picture of inspiration and write 200 words to fit with the picture.  This week is a little different from last weeks. The picture was again taken from Pintrest by Ellen Hart.

The leaves swirled around creating a cyclone effect as they rose a little off the floor in a circular motion. Their vibrant colours of orange, red, brown and yellow gave a much needed warmth to the view. The wind was bitter but I still sat in silence on the swing, slowly rocking back and forth. I allowed the images to replay in my mind as if I was seeing the moment through an observers eyes. I was younger, much younger. Back in a time where fairies were real. I ran care free through the playground, my tussled auburn hair falling with the wind. My dad chasing me.

I close my eyes to hear his voice. “I’m coming to catch you,” he tantalised my delight as I ran faster. He caught me, he always did. He would throw me up in the air and I would scream with laughter.

Out of the corner of my eye I glanced the slide and was taken further back in my youth when I was no more than three. The slide was so big. My dad sat me on his lap so I wouldn’t be afraid. I’d give anything to have him back with me.

Well, there you go, my 200 words exactly. Don't forget to stop by and see all the other authors taking part. You can click on the link below:

That's all for this weeks Tantalizing Tuesday Tease. I'll be back with another picture next week. Until then, take care.

  4. That was profoundly moving. The cadence was perfect, the descriptions were vivid and the emotion was palatable. I was there, that was me. That was every young girl playing with the first man she ever fell in love with. Beautiful piece of work. You got me right in the heart. xo

  5. Wow, very fond memories there. It's something when we remember being young and free; what we can't take back as we get older. Nice post.

  8. This was a good senrrtimental journey through the eyes of a child. Your descriptions enabled me to visualize both the game of her father trying to catch her and her experience with the slide.
